Description

In tribute to the very first Seamaster models of 1948, this unique Limited Edition timepiece has remained true to the original post-war design, while introducing some very 21st century technology. The series is limited to 1,948 pieces.

The 38 mm stainless steel case houses an opaline silvery domed dial with Dauphine style hour/minute hands, central second hand, indexes and a vintage OMEGA logo all in 18K white gold.

The caseback features a flat sapphire crystal which has been laser-engraved and lacquered by hand with a 70th Anniversary logo, a Chris-Craft boat and Gloster Meteor aircraft. This is in tribute to the aviators and mariners who all placed their trust in OMEGA’s timepieces during World War II.

Presented on a blue-grey leather strap, the watch is driven by the OMEGA Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, certified at the industry’s highest standard by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).

Calibre Omega 8806: Self-winding movement with a Co-Axial escapement. Certified Master Chronometer, approved by METAS, resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss. Free sprung-balance with silicon balance spring, automatic winding in both directions. Special luxury finish with rhodium-plated rotor and bridges with Geneva waves in arabesque.

FEATURES

Anti-Magnetic: The movement is unaffected by exposure to strong magnetic fields, even those greater than 1.5 tesla (15,000 gauss).

Automatic Watch: A self-winding watch or automatic watch uses a mechanical movement whose main spring is wound automatically by the natural motion of the wearer's arm.

Chronometer: Label given to a watch which has undergone precision tests and received a certificate from an official body (COSC).

Limited Edition (1,948): A series of watches whose production run is determined in advance of production and limited to a set number.

Master Chronometer Certified: Guaranteeing the Swiss industry’s highest standard of precision, performance and magnetic-resistance, as set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).

Transparent Case Back: A transparent case back - frequently made of sapphire - makes it possible to see the movement inside the watch.
