When, in the 1950s, the US Air Force was looking for a high-precision chronograph equipped to meet demanding specifications, Blancpain stepped up to the challenge. Inspired by the Fifty Fathoms diver’s watch, the brand developed a chronograph for Air Force.

Bringing together a vintage sense of style with Blancpain’s latest innovations in technology, today’s Air Command collection revives the connection to 1950s military aviation.

This high performance model is characterised by its sophisticated design, flyback chronograph function, and countdown bezel.

TECHNICAL ADVANCES MEET VINTAGE STYLE

This exceptional timepiece is presented in a 42.5mm red gold case, secured with a rich blue leather strap, with contrasting stitching. Framed by a two-way rotating 18K red gold bezel with a blue ceramic insert, the blue sunburst dial features two chronograph sub-dials and a printed tachymeter scale.

The calibre F388B calibre movement is equipped with a new skeletonised rotor and a vertical column-wheel clutch configuration, while the flyback chronograph measures a succession of elapsed times, eliminating the need for repetitive operations.

A 50-hour power reserve and water resistance to 3 bar (30 metres) ensure impeccable performance.
