Rolex Certified Pre-OwnedSubmariner Date
A Rare Treasure
The Submariner in its COMEX guise is a watch borne from a unique partnership tasked with the aim of creating the ultimate dive watch. During a period from 1970, the French undersea engineering organisation, the Compagnie Maritime d'Expertises, or COMEX, worked with Rolex to develop bespoke timepieces for their members, an elite cohort of professional deep-sea divers. Each watch was individually made for a specific member and presented privately. No COMEX watches were made available for public purchase.
Full Provenance
In this instance, the watch is backed up with a full suite of paperwork to accompany the timepiece, including all original provenance in addition to a suite of extra paperwork confirming receipt and official COMEX dive usage, including photographic evidence. One of only 300 models of the COMEX Submariner 16800 reference ever made, and never publicly listed for sale, this example has received a full in-house vintage restoration by Rolex and is the first COMEX timepiece to be made available in the Rolex Certified Pre-Owned programme.
