Ulysse Nardin has been a champion of chronometry since 1846. To celebrate the brand’s remarkable 175th Anniversary and distinguished history, seven new models of the revered Marine Torpilleur have been launched at Geneva Watch Days.

The Marine Torpilleur was first launched back in 2017 and has become emblematic of the innovation and creativity harnessed by Ulysse Nardin. This timepiece embodies the quest for precision and excellence and to celebrate this momentous anniversary, was the perfect collection to expand upon. With two new movements, chronographs, enameled dials and complications, the new and limited additions to the collection are a perfect representation of the signature “Chronometry since 1846” which features on the small seconds counter.

Welcome to the new fleet of Marine Torpilleur

What makes this piece so special in your opinion?

The enamel dial is something so special, crafted in house in it is a representation of the precision and expertise in each timepiece. Limited and numbered to just 175 pieces, it really is a piece that will most definitely leave its mark in the history of Ulysse Nardin.

Who do you think this timepiece will appeal to?

The Marine Torpilleur timepieces are incredibly adaptable to both ladies & gentlemen. Timeless and elegant, the 42mm case size is something that can suit all. I believe it can be a piece suitable for everyday wear and it looks just as elegant on either the brown or navy strap options.

Where would one wear this timepiece, and how?

Looking most at home on the wrist by the sea, this piece would be the perfect timepiece for any travel and adventure. Both classic and sporty these pieces can be dressed for any occasion.

The use of silicium and enamel in the piece showcases the breadth of materials that watch brands often incorporate, both generic and uniquely created by the brand. Do you think this is vital to the attractiveness of a timepiece, and why?

Most definitely, you can just see how beautiful the timepiece is, I feel the enamel dial is rich with the brand’s heritage, the process of grand feu is able to create such deep depths of blue, taking the inspiration from the depths of the oceans where this has all started. The use of silicium parts was ground-breaking for the industry, something which Ulysse Nardin has taken advantage of, pushing the boundaries of watchmaking with each and every timepiece with a balance of heritage and innovation.
