The New Hublot Big Bang e Premier League

As the official timekeeper of the Premier League, Hublot is proud to introduce the Big Bang e Premier League – the latest addition to Hublot’s line of connected watches that combine cutting edge materials with the latest digital technology.
This new innovation from luxury Swiss watchmaker, Hublot, adopts all the Big Bang codes that we know and love, together with exclusive features and software that enrich the Premier League fan’s experience. Limited to just 200 pieces, this digitally advanced watch is an evolution of the Hublot Big Bang e connected watch which launched with great success last year. The 42mm dial and strap have been developed to reflect the iconic purple colour of the Premier League and a number of advanced software features included, designed to enhance the experience of any Premier League devotee.

The striking purple fabric straps can be interchanged by the wearer with ease thanks to Hublot’s creative One Click strap-change system. Each strap is accompanied by its own microblasted black ceramic buckle and owners can change the look and feel of their timepiece with a choice of rubber straps and dial colour configurations.
The lightweight case in satin finished and polished titanium is instantly recognisable with it’s defining “sandwich” formation, a signature characteristic invented by Hublot back in 2005. Complex in design, it is comprised of 42 components, 27 of which are for the cage which houses the digital core of the watch.

The Big Bang e Premier League is powered by Wear OS by Google™ which comes equipped with the Football Premier League app. The app is expected to be available to existing Connected e owners at some point in the future via hublot.com or on the Google Play app store, but currently this is an exclusive to owners of the Limited-Edition Premier League model. It has been designed to enrich the experience and develop the relationship between the user and Premier League football. The app hosts an array of exciting features to include, animated notifications alerting match kick-off times; goals; penalties; substitutions; yellow and red cards; team line-ups and VAR decisions. When a match is in progress the watch automatically switches to match mode, and if two games are being played simultaneously the user can switch between matches by simply tapping the screen. This is about as close to the match as you can get without being there.

As the Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of Chelsea FC, it was only a matter of time before we saw this passion manifest itself in a new timepiece to complement Premier League football, and we can see that it will not disappoint the discerning football enthusiast.
Lisa Broun, Senior Watch Buyer at The Watches of Switzerland Group for Hublot told us what she thought of the latest Big Bang e Premier League watch from Hublot.
In your opinion, which design feature is the key highlight for you?
There are many favourable details in this timepiece from the design of the screws to the titanium case construction, to the vibrancy of the Premier League signature purple colourway. The highlight for me has to be that this timepiece is full of advanced technology yet is still instantly recognisable and rich with Hublot personality.
Hublot have been known to create Limited-Edition timepieces. Do you think that creating a Limited-Edition piece makes the watch more desirable to the consumer, or is this just a smart business move?
Hublot have partnerships with a diverse portfolio of industry leaders and in collaboration, produce ground-breaking products. A Limited-Edition can be appealing to someone that has an extensive collection or a real passion for the brand, but it also appeals to anyone that connects with the story behind the timepiece. The Big Bang e Premier League timepiece is no exception. Football is a universal language, an accessible sport and behind the simplicity of the game, it has a unanimous spirit that brings the community together.
Do you think that the future of luxury watches is digital?
I think that in 2021, we cannot ignore how far the world has come digitally and how reliant we have all become. The Hublot Big Bang E has been a great success so far because Hublot really take their own philosophy ‘Art of Fusion’ to create the perfect high-profile timepiece. It has the technology of a smart watch but the fantastic craftsmanship of a luxury timepiece. The smart watch industry is growing, and I think it has a positive impact in introducing the next generation into the luxury of having something on their wrist. The Big Bang E is the perfect introduction into Swiss watchmaking excellence.
